GA2DEC For Alibre Sheet Metal

Postby NateLiqGrav on Mon Jun 02, 2008 2:58 pm

GA2DEC is a tool that integrates with the Parameters tab of the Design Properties for Alibre Sheet Metal Parts.
It is named GA2DEC because it turns a stock GAuge 2 a DECimal based on user selections from the drop down lists and places the decimal in the Stock Thickness text box.
I got all the Gauge data from http://www.engineersedge.com/gauge.htm.
If the decimal is not right simply edit the Gauges.ini that is created the first time the program is run.
To turn off the program right click on the LGP icon in the taskbar and select Exit.

Note: The program will display over every window only when the Parameters tab of the Design Properties is selected.

Give it a try. :)

Na I wouldn't say hacked. Its just the magic of AutoHotkey at work. They are just long and difficult to follow the code so I compile them. Once you know what the commands do and you have an idea what you want to do the rest just falls in place. For example on this one I tried to add the buttons and drop down lists to the properties window, but that gave an error in Alibre, so I put them on a hidden window hovering over the properties window.

Ok, if you say so. I would call you Auto Natzard, then. :wink:

This appears wonderful work to me. :shock:

I think it is a "Toshi" joke: Nate + wizard = Natzard, or with other words: Nate is a magician!

I also think this, good work! :D

8)
But how could have been shortened so English user could have gotten it more naturally than the rest.
Purely curiosity on English terms.

"Nate the Auto Hot key Wizard?"---> Too obvious and nothing funny.
"Nazard"----->Too short that Nate disappears.
"Nate_wizard"----> Still explaining too much to me.
...
"NatZardous"----> Sounds hazardous.

I'm run out of my vocabulary..... since from the beginning it's not much. :mrgreen:

Ah, ha.
That makes sense, we( including Rlaf, sorry ) don't have too many choices.
That enable us to reach easiest solution than you (Tim and Nate) who has wider and, perhaps, deeper or subtle sense on the linguistic intuition or indication. :lol:
